Privacy and your worksheet data

Guideline Calculator processes financial inputs in your browser. There are no accounts or uploads, and entries are not sent to a calculation server or placed in a URL. Calculator pages and the property inventory do not load advertising or session recording. After consent, they may send an approved page view and coarse worksheet events; they never send calculator entries.

Optional saved worksheets and exports

Support calculators and the property inventory save a draft only when you choose Remember my worksheet on this device or explicitly resume a saved worksheet. Saving is off by default. A draft can contain the financial figures, names, notes, case details, property and debt entries, and progress you enter. It stays in this site’s local browser storage; it is not uploaded to an account or a server backup. Returning to a page offers a saved worksheet for you to resume or delete rather than filling it in automatically. Review resumed entries and calculate again using the current rules.

Each saved draft expires 30 days after your last edit. The site checks expiration when you return and while a worksheet page is open. A closed or suspended browser cannot run cleanup at an exact deadline; expired drafts are not offered for resumption. Use Delete saved worksheet or turn off Remember my worksheet on this device to remove the saved copy and stop further saving. Current entries can remain on the open page until you clear them or leave it. Changing cookie or analytics choices does not delete a worksheet draft.

Drafts are available only in the same browser profile on the same device and site. Anyone using that browser profile can resume them, so avoid saving on a shared or public device. Clearing site data, private browsing, blocked storage, or browser cleanup can make drafts unavailable. We cannot recover a deleted or unavailable draft for you. Exported PDFs and spreadsheets stay wherever you choose to save or share them; deleting a browser draft does not delete those files, and your browser or device may retain history and downloads.

Optional worksheet experience survey

Before printing or saving a PDF, you can answer four short questions about ease of use, finding the worksheet, clarity, and what needs improvement, followed by an optional comment about improving the site. Every question is optional; Skip survey & save PDF continues without sending feedback. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent you from voluntarily sending a response.

Choosing Send feedback & save PDF sends your selected ratings or categories, any optional comment you choose to write (up to 1,000 characters), the worksheet type (support or property), and a randomly generated ID used to prevent duplicate submissions when a request is retried. The ID is created for that one submission, is not saved in your browser, and is not linked to an account, analytics session or worksheet. We do not read or send names, contact details, state selection, case information, financial entries or PDF contents from your worksheet. Please keep names, contact details, case details and financial information out of the optional comment. Anything you type in that field is sent as part of your feedback when you choose to submit it.

Kestervale LLC stores this feedback in its self-hosted LimeSurvey service and uses it to improve the worksheets. Survey responses retain the submission date, without an exact time, and do not store your IP address, browser details or referring page. The submission endpoint does not write ordinary access logs; delivery and security systems may still process connection information separately. The survey does not load tracking scripts or set cookies.

Responses and duplicate-prevention records are deleted by a daily cleanup after 350 days. Protected backups rotate after seven days, keeping retained copies under 12 months. Access to responses and backups is restricted to authorized administrators. For questions or requests, contact support@kestervale.com. We do not request contact details or link feedback to a worksheet identifier, so we may be unable to identify a particular response from your name alone. If you accidentally include personal information in a comment, contact us to request its removal.

Display preference

Choosing Light or Dark from the theme control stores one value, gc-theme, in this site’s local browser storage so the choice survives between pages and visits. It records a display preference only. It is not a cookie, it is not sent to us or to anyone else, it carries no identifier, and it is unaffected by your analytics or advertising choices. Leaving the control on System stores nothing and follows your device setting. Clearing site data removes it.

Optional tracking

Basic Rybbit page-view analytics are off by default. Accept all Cookies enables them on listed public pages; Reject optional, Withdraw consent and Global Privacy Control keep them off. We send only the site name, hostname, approved page path, and coarse events such as calculator completion, worksheet review, draft save/resume, export format or contact-link activation. These events may include a two-letter state code and a fixed worksheet type, format, source or step number. After acceptance, analytics may also include the public hostname of the external HTTPS website that referred you, such as google.com, to understand how people find the site. We remove the referring URL’s path, query, fragment and credentials, and exclude local, private and same-site referrers. We do not reconstruct earlier browsing activity. Beyond those coarse labels, we exclude query strings, entered text, names, notes, financial entries and session recording from analytics. Our self-hosted Rybbit collector processes connection IP and browser information to group visits using a daily rotating identifier; current analytics events do not store the connection IP address. These identifiers estimate visits and do not establish unique people. Earlier analytics records may retain connection information collected under earlier settings until it is removed under our retention process. We add no analytics identifier cookie or browser-storage ID. Privacy-choice pages, legal notices, private routes and error pages are excluded from optional analytics. Hosting and security logs remain separate. This October 20 update changes the analytics disclosure; a prior cookie choice must be renewed before this version starts tracking.

We honor Global Privacy Control by leaving optional analytics and advertising off. The older Do Not Track browser signal does not independently change our settings; use Reject optional or Cookie settings to choose. Analytics events currently have no automatic expiration and remain until administrative deletion. We do not use session replay.

Advertising on educational guides

We load Google AdSense on eligible US educational guides after a valid, explicit “Accept all Cookies” choice. Rejecting, withdrawing, expired or invalid consent, no choice, and Global Privacy Control prevent Google ad requests. Acceptance permits Google’s ad cookies, device-information use and ad personalization where applicable. Google can use cookies or device information for delivery, frequency capping, measurement and fraud prevention. We send no Google ad requests for other or unknown regions, or from error pages, calculators, property worksheets and policy pages.

Google receives ordinary connection and device information when ads load. See Google’s partner-site privacy explanation and our cookie notice. We publish the authorized seller entry at ads.txt. We do not send calculator inputs to advertising partners.

Hosting, contact and privacy rights

Our host processes connection information to deliver pages, maintain security, debug failures and prevent abuse. Current ordinary access logging for this site records only a timestamp, coarse public route group, response status, byte counts and timing, without visitor IPs, query strings, referring URLs, browser identifiers or worksheet entries. This operational log retains up to 35 rotated copies plus the current file; it rotates daily when nonempty and may rotate earlier at 10 MiB. The survey submission and privacy-settings routes are excluded. Historical access logs and separate security/error logs may retain IP addresses, user agents, timestamps and requested paths. Separate ads.txt diagnostic logs retain request metadata, including browser user agent and country, without visitor IPs, query strings or cookies. These historical and separate Nginx logs rotate daily with 14 rotated copies retained. If you contact us, we receive what you send and keep the correspondence as needed to resolve your request and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. Do not send Social Security numbers, account credentials or sensitive case records.

Where applicable law provides access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, portability, appeal or opt-out rights, contact privacy@guidelinecalculator.com. We may have no calculator-entry record to retrieve because those inputs remain on your device. Requests about hosting or contact records are reviewed under applicable law and retention obligations.

Children and changes to this notice

This is an educational tool for adults handling support or property matters. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child sent us information, contact us so we can review it. We post privacy changes on this page with an updated date and provide additional notice when required.

External tools and educational use

Official court tools have their own terms and privacy notices. We do not automatically submit your entries to them. Guideline Calculator is an independent educational project operated by Kestervale LLC, not a court or law firm. Read the scope and sources, legal notices and accessibility statement.
