Using the worksheets

Can I calculate support for every state?

All 50 states have a guide. 42 states have a tested calculator that applies the state’s published guideline. The other 8 have a guide that links to the official worksheet or calculator their courts use. Spousal-support estimates and advisory ranges are available where a state publishes a formula, with a printable review worksheet for the rest. See the 50-state spousal-support coverage report. Check your state’s availability and scope before entering figures.

Do all my income and expense entries affect the estimate?

Each party’s countable income streams are added into that party’s state formula input. Asset and debt balances stay separate from income. Deductions must be permitted by the selected state; additional child expenses and special-case credits may require the full official worksheet. Review the field help and the calculation method for your scenario.

How is the calculator tested?

Each state module is checked against the worked examples published in its statute, court rule or agency worksheet, and the full automated test suite runs before every release. Published engine files are compared with the tested versions after each deployment. See how the calculator is tested and verified.

Can I save my worksheet without an account?

Yes. Turn on “Remember my worksheet on this device” to save support or property entries in this browser for 30 days after your last edit. Return here to resume, update or delete a saved worksheet. No account is needed. You can also print or save a PDF.
